BDM103 - Copyright Infringement, Getting Permission, Moral Rights
Getting Permission:
Most of this is common sense, but having a set layout of what you must send is a big help.
There is no protection for the excuse of not being able to find or know who the copyright holder is, of course you could always risk it, with an allocation of good will, such as if someone finds who has copyright or claims it will have a set amount you're already willing to provide to them.
Infringement:
Decide what you want, do you want it to stop, do you want to have the infringing copies sent to you, do you want to be paid some of the profits.
Contact the infringer, a set list of requirements for this message is provided, allowing a good template that covers all your bases.
If you want your copyright protected, various mediums are protected by various companies.
Moral Rights:
Moral rights belong to the authors of various mediums, such as attribution.
Needs more notes!

BDM124 Work and Reference
Im doing alot of the physical editing of the storyboard with brad as director, along with finding and sourcing reference and sound and cardboard. Im more of a technitian with brad and reuben acting as art direction and story as it is their original concept and i'm analyzing and critiquing their choices.
Today we did alot of concept and reference work.
I spent the time looking for sounds and reference.

BDM127 Proporal Design - Contents
I decided to go with an 'infiction' approach, where you're looking at scenes that include the information required in the proposal.
I started off with a door, and then added stuff that i thought would make sense, and then the layout for the contents.
Adding more deail, trying out things, still in sketchy phase, perspective things to sort out still but i'm liking where it's going.
I think i'm going to go with a black on white format, using shades of grey and darkness, with a few colours here and therefor blood / mold. The normality would have the normal colours.

BDM127 Jimmy clothes and proportions
Added clothes, a sepia tone is reinforced throughout the model, in an attempt to show normality and boring reality for later contrast with the weird world. Worried about proportions to show a child, I tested 2-2.5 head tall Jimmy instead of 3, and found that although it shows more of a child and almost chibi like ideas of silly movement, it is the head that is still mature, perhaps the empty eyes, wide cheeks or hair style.
BDM127 Jimmy Character Design
After looking at a few reference images I liked I started with this as a new path for my character, attemping to do a 2.5 or 3 head ratio.
After a many hours playing around in Toon Boom, i came out with the below, Brad helped me with working out the limbs. I started with using circles to work out a face ratio that looked right with the cheeks, and then skeletoned it out with straight limbs. Brad then got me to use globules for upper limbs, and then lines for for limbs, rather than my all straight skeleton and it worked out alot better.
Next step is to clothe.
